An investigation into the Gustafsson limit for small planar antennas using optimisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The fundamental limit for small antennas provides a guide to the effectiveness of designs. Gustafsson et al, Yaghjian et al, and Mohammadpour-Aghdam et al independently deduced a variation of the Chu-Harrington limit for planar antennas in different ...

Parametric Analysis and Bandwidth Optimisation of Hybrid Linear-exponential Tapered Slot Vivaldi Antennas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This work presents an analysis of the effects of a hybrid linear-exponential tapered slot on the key properties of both the antipodal and co-planar Vivaldi antennas at low frequencies using parametric analysis and Nonlinear Sequential Programming ...

Design and Analysis of Novel Fractal Linear and Planar Array Antennas for Satellite Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2016
This article proposed a new geometric design methodology for the systematic expansion of fractal linear and planar array antennas. Using this proposed geometric design methodology any deterministic polygon shape can be constructed.

Square planar monopole antenna [PDF]

open access: yesIEE National Conference on Antennas and Propagation, 1999
A broadband square monopole antenna is investigated, showing a constant radiation pattern over the impedance bandwidth. A simple formula for the frequency corresponding to the lower edge of the impedance bandwidth, which has an accuracy of ±8.5% over the frequency range 1 GHz to 6 GHz, is proposed. The effect of the feedgap distance is examined.

Compact Multilayer Yagi-Uda Based Antenna for IoT/5G Sensors

open access: yesSensors, 2018
To increase the capacity and performance of communication systems, the new generation of mobile communications (5G) will use frequency bands in the mmWave region, where new challenges arise. These challenges can be partially overcome by using higher gain

Moment method analysis of an archimedean spiral printed on a layered dielectric sphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A method of moments model is presented to analyze Archimedean spirals that are printed on a layered dielectric sphere. The model is derived assuming an arbitrary location of the spiral.

Electromagnetic radiation by antennas of arbitrary shape in a layered spherical media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A unified method of moments model is developed for the analysis of arbitrarily shaped antennas that are radiating next to a multilayered dielectric sphere.
