The seal louse Echinophthirius horridus has uniquely shaped setae that may reduce drag during its host's dives. Using numerical simulations, this study demonstrates that their natural inclination promotes vortex formation, minimizing friction and energy loss. These findings provide insights into biological surface adaptations and may inspire the design

Clouds and Seasonality on Terrestrial Planets with Varying Rotation Rates
Using an idealized climate model incorporating seasonal forcing, we investigate the impact of rotation rate on the abundance of clouds on an Earth-like aquaplanet, and the resulting impacts upon albedo and seasonality. We show that the cloud distribution

Genomic and Cis‐Regulatory Basis of a Plastic C3‐C4 Photosynthesis in Eleocharis Baldwinii
The sedge Eleocharis baldwinii remarkably switches between C3‐like and C4‐like photosynthesis in response to environmental conditions. Combining gap‐free genome assembly with single‐cell multi‐omics, this study uncovers how subgenome dominance and cell‐specific cis‐regulation enable C4 photosynthesis.

Muted Features in the JWST NIRISS Transmission Spectrum of Hot Neptune LTT 9779b
The hot Neptune desert is one of the most sparsely populated regions of the exoplanet parameter space, and atmosphere observations of its few residents can provide insights into how such planets have managed to survive in such an inhospitable environment.
