Geology of the Derain quadrangle (H10), Mercury

open access: yesJournal of Maps, 2023
We present the results of geological mapping of Mercury’s Derain (H10) quadrangle (0°-72°E and 22.5°N-22.5°S) using data from the MESSENGER spacecraft. The map is presented on a scale of 1:3,000,000, for which linework was drawn at 1:300,000.

Human crew-related aspects for astrobiology research [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Several space agencies and exploration stakeholders have a strong interest in obtaining information on technical and human aspects to prepare for future extra-terrestrial planetary exploration.

Formation mechanisms of ringwoodite: clues from the Martian meteorite Northwest Africa 8705

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2021
Ringwoodite and wadsleyite are the high-pressure polymorphs of olivine, which are common in shocked meteorites. They are the major constituent minerals in the terrestrial mantle.

Global Mapping of Fragmented Rocks on the Moon with a Neural Network: Implications for the Failure Mode of Rocks on Airless Surfaces

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal, 2023
Failure modes of lunar boulders depend both on rheology and the erosion agents acting in the lunar surface environment. Here, we address the failure modes of lunar boulders and their variations at a quasi-global scale (60°N to S).

Sulfur Isotopic Fractionation of the Youngest Chang'e‐5 Basalts: Constraints on the Magma Degassing and Geochemical Features of the Mantle Source

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2022
The unusually prolonged volcanism at the Chang'e‐5 (CE‐5) landing site remains a mystery. To constrain the geochemical features of the CE‐5 mantle source, we performed in situ sulfur isotope analysis on sulfides of the CE‐5 basalts.

A Geologic Map of Vesta Produced Using a Hybrid Method for Incorporating Spectroscopic and Morphologic Data

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal, 2023
We have constructed a global geologic map of the minor planet Vesta at 1:300,000-scale using Dawn spacecraft imaging, spectroscopic, topographic, and elemental data.

Responding trends of ionospheric F2-layer to weaker geomagnetic activities

open access: yesJournal of Space Weather and Space Climate, 2022
Geomagnetic activities frequently occur in varying degrees. Strong geomagnetic activities, which have been widely investigated, occur occasionally; they can cause distinguishable and significant disturbances in the ionosphere.

Geology of the Alpha Regio (V-32) Quadrangle, Venus

open access: yesJournal of Maps, 2019
We present a 1:2,500,000 geological map of the Alpha Regio (V-32) quadrangle, Venus. The V-32 quadrangle extends from 0° to 25 S, 0°to 30° E with an area of approximately 7,600,000 km2. Geological mapping was conducted using full resolution (maximum 75 m/

Solar Tide‐like Signatures in the Ionospheric Total Electron Content During the 2018 Sudden Stratospheric Warming Event

open access: yesSpace Weather, 2022
Atmospheric waves play an important role in the vertical coupling of atmosphere and ionosphere. Recent studies revealed that the mesospheric wave activities associated with sudden stratospheric warming events (SSWs) are more complicated than previously ...

Concurrent effects of Martian topography on the thermosphere and ionosphere at high northern latitudes

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2022
Martian topography modulated non-migrating tides play important roles in the upper atmosphere and thus in the ionosphere through their coupling, especially in their longitude variations. In this study, the neutral scale height (H n ) and ionospheric peak
