Excitation and Propagation of Eccentricity Disturbances in Planetary Systems

open access: yes, 2004
The high eccentricities of the known extrasolar planets remain largely unexplained. We explore the possibility that eccentricities are excited in the outer parts of an extended planetary disk by encounters with stars passing at a few hundreds of AU ...

3D‐Printed Soft Magnetoactive Origami Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Soft magnetoactive films are 3D‐printed using ink with up to 75 wt.% ferromagnetic particles and dual UV/heat curing, then integrated with various origami structures. The films are flexible, magnetically responsive, and programmable, enabling flexible integration with origami without hindering shape‐changeability.

On the Dynamics of Comets in Extrasolar Planetary Systems

open access: yes, 2019
Since very recently, we acquired knowledge on the existence of comets in extrasolar planetary systems. The formation of comets together with planets around host stars now seems evident.

High‐Entropy Perovskite Nanofibers for Bifunctional Air Electrodes in Reversible Protonic Ceramic Electrochemical Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy perovskite nanofibers serve as robust and active bifunctional air electrodes in reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cells. Their compositional complexity stabilizes the lattice, enriches oxygen vacancies, and accelerates surface exchange.

Multiple Twinning in Nacre and Aragonite

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electron backscatter diffraction map of a cluster of geologic aragonite, exhibiting single, double, and triple twins. The whole cluster is approximately 2 cm wide. Colors indicate crystal orientations, so that pixels where the a‐, b‐, and c‐axis is perpendicular to the image plane are green, red, and blue, respectively.

InSAR-constrained parallel elastic finite element models for fault coseismic dislocation inversion: a case study of the 2016 MW 5.9 Menyuan earthquake

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The study of fault coseismic dislocation distribution is crucial for understanding fault stress release, fault sliding behavior, and surface deformation during seismic events.
