Planetary ball transmissions: Strength calculations
Russian Engineering Research, 2010The design of transmissions with intermediate rollers is considered. A structure for spherical planetary ball transmission is proposed. Formulas for the forces on the rollers are proposed, along with a method of calculating the strength of transmission components and an algorithm for determining the engagement coefficient.

The Transmission of Planetary Theories in Ancient and Medieval Astronomy
1983In Toledo in the year A.D. 1068 Abū’l-Qāsim Sā’id ibn Ahmad, also known as Qādi Sā’id, wrote a book entitled The Categories of Nations.1 In this work he discusses the people of the world from the viewpoint of their interest in scientific research, stating that “the category of nations which have cultivated the sciences forms the elite and the essential

PLANETARY TRANSMISSIONS - For Agricultural and Industrial Tractors
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1949<div class="htmlview paragraph"><b>THE author takes the viewpoint that no matter what improvements are made in countershaft transmissions, they can never fully answer the demand for smooth starting and speed changing without interruption of power, because the basic principle of shifting gears is inferior to engagement by frictional means ...

New Modeling of Planetary Gear Transmission
2017In a planetary gearbox, there are multiple sources of vibrations due to the complexity of the gearbox since the latter contains multiple components (Sun, Carrier, Planets, and Ring) witch all of them are in mesh. In addition, the complexity of the planets motion (two rotational motions) affects the vibration collected in experiments, because the ...

Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication research on Planetary Gear Transmission
2011 International Conference on New Technology of Agricultural, 2011Based on elastohydrodynamic Lubrication theory (EHL), the EHL oil film thicknesses and those distributions for two operation cases on meshing line were calculated: one case is the sun gear as the driving gear and another case is the ring gear as the driving gear in the Planetary Gear Transmission.

Load sharing characteristics of planetary transmissions
Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1994Abstract A nonlinear time-varying dynamic model of a planetary transmission with an arbitrary number of pinions is developed. The model includes several manufacturing errors and assembly variations, and can accommodate for any pinion spacing arrangement, tooth separations and time-varying gear mesh stiffnesses. A dynamic load sharing factor K

Development of Planetary Precessional Transmission with Multicouple Gear
2013Some problems of mechanical transmissions can be solved with special effects by developing new types of transmissions based on planetary precessional transmissions with multiple gear, that were developed by the authors. Absolute multiplicity of precessional gear (up to 100 % pairs of teeth simultaneously involved in gearing, compared to 5–7 %—in ...
