Abstract The Hyperodapedon Assemblage Zone of the Candelária Sequence (Santa Maria Supersequence, Paraná Basin) preserves one of the most significant Late Triassic continental vertebrate assemblages in southern Brazil. Morphological description of the oropharyngeal cavity of Kinosternon scorpioides scorpioides (Linnaeus, 1766), (Testudines: Kinosternidae)

Gross morphology, Light Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy revealed the structural organization of the oropharyngeal cavity of Kinosternon scorpioides scorpioides, characterized by mucous epithelium, epithelial pores, and developed lingual papillae.
