Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Planing hull model tests for CFD validation
A set of bare hull resistance tests were performed on a 1/8 scale model of an 11.8 m long planing hull. The model was tested over a range of speeds and ballast conditions in calm water.

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Free surface CFD simulations of the flow around a planing plate
A RANS ((Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes)) free surface flow solver has been used to model the flow around a 2-D planing plate ((Fn = 1.596)). Calculations have been made for both the plate planing at the free surface and with the free surface ...

A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Effects of yaw angle on hydrodynamic performance for an oblique planing hull
High-speed small crafts are extensively used in various environments. However, these planing vessels are prone to motion instabilities, particularly during turning and course-changing maneuvers.
