Host plant allelochemistry and nutrition have figured prominently in understanding the feeding behavior, host plant range, population dynamics, and life history strategies of phytophagous insects (McNeill and Southwood 1978; Rosenthal and Janzen 1979; Denno and McClure 1983).

Immunochemical behavior of a plant agglutinin (lectin)
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1955Abstract Methods of purification of the A-specific hemagglutinin (lectin) from lima beans are presented, and the results of ultracentrifugal and electrophoretic determinations on the partially purified protein. Preparations were obtained in which over 30% of the protein was specifically precipitable by A substance.

Behavior of Herbicides in Plants
1972Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the metabolism and fate of herbicides in higher plants. It discusses (1) the role of metabolism in herbicide selectivity; (2) the need for additional information on the identification and significance of many soluble and insoluble polar metabolites and residues in plants; and (3) the need for basic biochemical

Behavioral plasticity in the sensitive plant, Mimosa
Behavioral Biology, 1972The leaves of the sensitive plant Mimosa can adapt their closing response to electrical and mechanical stimulation so that they reopen to repeated stimulation. The more intense the stimuli and the longer the intertrial interval, the longer it takes to adapt.
