Improved biocontrol efficacy of Trichoderma harzianum 1295-22 for foliar phases of turf diseases by use of spray applications

open access: yes, 2012
Trichoderma harzianum strain 1295-22 is an effective biocontrol agent for several fungal diseases. The efficacy of granule and spray applications of strain 1295-22 for control of Pythium root rot, brown patch, and dollar spot of creeping bentgrass was ...

Sensitivity of Irish Pyrenopeziza brassicae populations to methyl benzimidazole carbamate (MBC), quinone outside inhibitor (QoI) and succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) fungicides

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
For three collections of Irish Pyrenopeziza brassicae populations fungicide sensitivity status to methyl benzimidazole carbamate (MBC), quinone outside inhibitor (QoI) and succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) fungicides was determined using sensitivity screening in vitro. Molecular mechanisms of insensitivity have been identified for MBC and QoI in

Rhodopseudomonas palustris increase soybean photosynthesis and protein levels in grains [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
Rhodopseudomonas palustris, a photosynthetic bacterium with biostimulant properties, enhances agricultural productivity by increasing plant resistance to environmental stresses. To assess its impact on soybean cultivation, we conducted a field experiment

EFFECT OF PRE-SOWING SEED TREATMENT AND FOLIAR FERTILIZATION ON LINEAR GROWTH OF PEA PLANTS

open access: yesAgriculture and Forestry
The popularity of legumes in Ukraine is growing every year. Legumes are a source of plant protein and a valuable crop in crop rotation that enriches the soil with nitrogen and is a good precursor to the harvest of traditional crops. Today, the resistance of agricultural crops to stress factors is important, which is important in the arid climate of ...

Combined effects of canola plant density and insecticide management strategies on flea beetle abundance, canola defoliation, and yield across the Canadian prairies

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Increasing canola plant density reduced flea beetle abundance per plant and increased yield, independent of region or insecticide use, highlighting its potential as a component of integrated pest management. Abstract The crucifer flea beetle, Phyllotreta cruciferae (Goeze), and the striped flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolata (Fabricius) (Coleoptera ...

First genome sequence of a European Alternaria brassicae isolate and genes involved in early development of alternaria leaf spot on Brassica juncea

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
This article reports the first genome sequence of a UK Alternaria brassicae isolate. Dual RNA‐sequencing profiling of A. brassicae‐infected Brassica juncea leaves identified differentially expressed genes involved in pathogenicity and host response pathways in moderately resistant Sej‐2 (2) and moderately susceptible Pusa Jaikisan cultivars.

Field investigation of glucosinolates and morphological traits in mitigating Psylliodes chrysocephala larval infestation through crop varieties and companion planting

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Genotype and cropping system influenced oilseed rape ecophysiological traits, including glucosinolate compounds (glucoraphanin, glucobrassicanapin, and butyl‐glucosinolates) and biomass, which were linked to Psylliodes chrysocephala larval infestation, with varietal effects stronger than faba bean companion planting.
