RESPONSE OF YIELD AND QUALITY OF SWEET POTATO PLANTS TO IRRIGATION INTERVALS AND SOME SOIL AND FOLIAR APPLICATION TREATMENTS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Productivity and Development, 2021
A field experiment was carried out during the two successive  summer  seasons of 2019 and 2020 in a Private Farm at Meet Faris Village, Dekarns, District  Dakhlia  Governorate, Egypt to study the effect of irrigation intervals  (15 and 30 days) and  some  soil application treatments  (humic acid at 20 kg /fad. and fulvic acid at 10 kg/fad.) and foliar

Chitosan‐Carbon Dot Composite Materials Form a Leaf Surface Barrier to Mitigate the Enrichment and Invasion of Nanoplastics: From Leaf Interface to Systemic Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Foliar spraying of CS‐CDs can form a film on the leaves of Brassica rapa, effectively reducing the enrichment and absorption of PS in the leaves, while increasing the biomass and nutrient content of the plants. In addition, CS‐CDs can also enrich the interfoliar microbial community and activate the plant's own defense metabolic pathways.

Effect of Foliar Treatment with Simulated Acid Mists on Biomass Formation and Nutrient Composition of Plants

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung C, 1995
Plants of Phaseolus vulgaris L. were exposed to mists consisting of distilled water at pH 5.6 (control) or H2SO4+ HNO3 (molar ratio 1.5:1) in distilled water at pH 4.5, 3.0 and 2.3. At the end of 21-days treatment the growth of the plants in height was not reduced: however, significant changes were detected in the mineral nutrient content and ...

Response of Pine Rhizosphere Microbiota to Foliar Treatment with Resistance-Inducing Bacteria against Pine Wilt Disease

open access: yes, 2021
In this study, two bacterial strains, IRP7 and IRP8, were selected to induce resistance against pine wilt disease (PWD). Foliar application with these strains to nematode-inoculated pine seedlings significantly reduced PWD severity.

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

A Disaggregation Strategy for Nanopesticide Fabrication: Investigating the Impact of Nanosizing on Pesticide Biointeractions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To explore the impact of nanosizing on pesticide biointeractions, a 7‐nm (average) emamectin benzoate nanopesticide without nanocarriers or surfactants is fabricated via HOAc‐mediated disaggregation. Nanosizing enhances bioactivity against Megalurothrips usitatus and Meloidogyne enterolobii and improves plant penetration.

Foliar application of potassium on antioxidant enzyme activities of tomato plants under drought stress

open access: yesAdvances in Horticultural Science, 2020
Water stress negatively affects productivity in crops, while the foliar application of potassium-containing compounds may be helpful in reducing the drought effects.
