Plant Pathology, 2021
Abstract There are four broad methods to control diseases in crops: agronomy, genetics, chemistry, and biosecurity. These methods appear to differ markedly in their cost, where the cost falls, and their effectiveness. I review the features of these four methods.

Plants, selenium and human health
Current Opinion in Plant Biology, 2003Selenium is an essential nutrient for animals, microorganisms and some other eukaryotes. Although selenium has not been demonstrated to be essential in vascular plants, the ability of some plants to accumulate and transform selenium into bioactive compounds has important implications for human nutrition and health, and for the environment.
