PLANT NUTRIENT DEMAND FUNCTIONS FOR TENNESSEE WITH PRICES OF JOINTLY APPLIED NUTRIENTS [PDF]
Several studies have estimated plant nutrient demand functions for nitrogen, phosphate, and potash. All included own-price effects but excluded prices of jointly applied nutrients.

Effective recycling agriculture around the Baltic Sea: background report [PDF]
In this report the historical background and present situation of the plant nutrient balances and surplus of plant nutrients within the agricultural sector in the eight countries of the Baltic Sea catchments area (Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia ...

Biochar from Pyrolysis of Biosolids for Nutrient Adsorption and Turfgrass Cultivation [PDF]
At water resource recovery facilities, nutrient removal is often required and energy recovery is an ever-increasing goal. Pyrolysis may be a sustainable process for handling wastewater biosolids because energy can be recovered in the py-gas and py-oil ...

Soil-plant nutrient interactions in two mangrove areas at Southern Brazil
Mangrove forests have a simple architecture. They shelter a few number of arboreal species that grow in a saline environment subject to tidal activity. The research objective was to evaluate possible interactions between physical-chemical soil attributes

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

How Wastewater Addition Reshapes Peatland Vegetation via Linked Abiotic and Biotic Changes
Peatlands, as globally important carbon sinks, are highly sensitive to human disturbances. The direct discharge or use of domestic sewage with different treatment gradients as peatland replenishment water affects plant communities, but how the plant ...

Most Plant Nutrient Elements Are Retained by Biochar in Soil
Biochar may contain substantial amounts of plant nutrient elements, and at typical rates of application, may supply luxury levels of K, Ca, P, and other plant nutrients.

Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

The Perspective in Organic Farming in Relation to Human Health [PDF]
Organic plant production is characterised by a relatively low level of nutrient supply. Compared to conventional farming this leads to an earlier completion of vegetative growth and an earlier onset of maturity processes.
