Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Searching the Pinus taeda Foliar Mycobiome for Emerging Pathogens Among Brown-Spot Needle Blight and Needlecast Outbreaks in the Southeast United States

open access: yesPhytobiomes Journal
Needle pathogens cause the discoloration, death, or premature abscission of conifer foliage, reducing growth and vigor, and repeated defoliation may eventually result in tree mortality.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

NLP-like deep learning aided in identification and validation of thiosulfinate tolerance clusters in diverse bacteria

open access: yesmSphere
Allicin tolerance (alt) clusters in phytopathogenic bacteria, which provide resistance to thiosulfinates like allicin, are challenging to find using conventional approaches due to their varied architecture and the paradox of being vertically maintained ...
