Contact dermatitis from plants or plant products may occur by several mechanisms. The most common dermatoses seen in dermatology clinics are delayed and immediate contact reactions of allergic aetiology. Not so commonly seen are reactions of irritant aetiology, which may be mechanically or chemically induced.
