Preparation and Thermal Modification of Disentangled Ultrahigh‐Molecular‐Weight Polyethylene Particles for Powder‐Based Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrahigh‐molecular‐weight polyethylene powders (<≈40 μm) with a bulk density of 260 g L−1 are prepared from a silica supported bisimine pyridine iron catalyst. The nascent product is disentangled and can be thermally densified without loss of its low viscosity.

Plant regeneration from immature embryo culture of Trifolium michelianum savi. - histological observations on adventitious shoot induction

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2014
Whole plant regeneration via organogenesis in immature embryo culture of Trifolium michelianum Savi. was obtained. The shoots were induced directly from the hypocotyl or indirectly through callus on EC6 medium supplemented with 0.5 and 5 mg/l BAP ...

3D Bioprinting of Thick Adipose Tissues with Integrated Vascular Hierarchies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
An advanced 3D bioprinting technique is used here to create thick adipose tissues with a central, vessel and extensive branching. The construct is made using alginate, gelatin and collagen‐based bioinks. Flow through the complex vessel network is demonstrated as well as its successful integration with a femoral artery following implantation in a rat ...

Extracorporeal Catalytic Hemoperfusion Therapy for Refractory Septic Shock Using Ceria Nanoparticle‐Embedded Porous Microbeads

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces an extracorporeal hemoperfusion system incorporating porous microbeads embedded with autocatalytic ceria nanoparticles (CeNPs) for targeted reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging in septic shock. The blood‐compatible hemoperfusion cartridge demonstrated significant improvements in survival, hemodynamic stability, and organ ...

Magnetic Field‐Assisted Conductive Nerve Guidance Conduit Enabling Peripheral Nerve Regeneration with Wireless Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a conductive nerve guidance conduit integrated with wireless electrical stimulation through alternating magnetic fields, which induces currents and creates a supportive microenvironment for nerve regeneration. In vivo studies show that this approach significantly enhanced myelin restoration, gastrocnemius muscle regeneration ...

In vitro regeneration from cotyledons of watermelon

open access: yesInternational Journal of Horticultural Science, 2000
Cotyledonary segments of five different genotypes of watermelon were used to induce organogenesis. Five different hormone combinations were applied to enhance the induction of shoot formation on the surface of the segments.
