An Updated Mortality Study of Workers at a Dye and Resin Manufacturing Plant
Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, 2000This investigation evaluated the mortality experience of workers at a dye and resin manufacturing plant in New Jersey. The retrospective follow-up study included 3266 workers employed for at least 6 months at the plant. Plant production areas were South Dyes, where anthraquinone dyes and intermediates were produced; North Dyes, where azo dyes and ...

A study on a combined process for the treatment of phenolic resin plant effluents
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2009The removal of phenol and formaldehyde from phenolic resin plant effluents has been studied by using a combined process. In the first step, phenol was removed from effluent by solvent extraction. Special attention was paid to the effluent with a low content of phenol, which was treated by non-dispersive solvent extraction in hollow fibres. It was found

Resin plant safety: The designer's contribution and conscience
Pigment & Resin Technology, 1977Ultimate process plant safety is both most vulnerable and most easily attainable at the design stage. Asked bluntly: “Do you want a safe plant or a dangerous one?” nobody would choose danger but the question is rarely put as simply as that. Considerations of cost cloud the basic issues.

A case‐control study of lung cancer at a dye and resin manufacturing plant
American Journal of Industrial Medicine, 1992AbstractThis case‐control study evaluated the relationship between lung cancer and occupational factors among employees at a dye and resin manufacturing plant. The study included 51 lung cancer cases and 102 controls who were members of a cohort of workers investigated in a previous retrospective follow‐up study.

Design of Process Layout for a Pilot Alkyd Resin Production Plant
Advanced Materials Research, 2007There are several reasons why industrial engineers need to optimize process layout designs. This paper points out the justification and discusses the qualitative and quantitative techniques involved in the determination of an optimal process layout for a pilot alkyd resin and its end products manufacturing system. It also spotlights practical decisions

A new plant preservation method using epoxy resin
2013The results achieved at the Macedonian Museum of Natural History in Skopje encouraged us to experiment with epoxy resin in preserving herbarium specimens. The Botany Department of the above Museum owns a collection of plants in polyester resins, but the information on the preservation methodology are not available and do not exist in writing.
