Sonchus yellow net virus (SYNV) serves as the paradigm for the cell biology of plant-adapted rhabdoviruses. Fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP) demonstrated that SYNV-induced intranuclear membranes are contiguous with the endomembrane system.

VHSV and IHNV molecular detection in environmental samples was tested in controlled infection trials. We show that, in water, detected viral eRNA copies correlate with infectious particle numbers. After comparison of viral concentration methods from water, we demonstrate the feasibility of filter‐based eRNA detection in IHNV‐positive aquaculture farms.

Physical map of the genome of sonchus yellow net virus, a plant rhabdovirus with six genes and conserved gene junction sequences. [PDF]
We provide evidence that a plant rhabdovirus, sonchus yellow net virus (SYNV), is similar to most animal rhabdoviruses in the order of structural genes and in the nucleotide sequences at the gene junctions but that it differs in the presence and location of a putative nonstructural gene.
