The Dynamics of Cell-to-Cell Water Transport and the Involvement of Aquaporins in Response to Apoplast Blockage in the Roots of Intact Maize Plants

open access: yesCells
Investigating the contribution and interaction of water transport pathways in plant roots is important for understanding the functioning of the root hydraulic system. In this study, the real-time dynamics of lateral water transport along the cell-to-cell

Bacterial and Fungal Diversity from the Rhizosphere of Plants Wildly Growing in Agricultural Soil Under Unfavourable Environmental Conditions

open access: yesBiology and Life Sciences Forum
Rhizospheres harbor many beneficial microorganisms interacting with the plant ecosystem. However, in agriculture, there is a tendency to remove any plant that is different from that being cultivated.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Root Pruning Enhances Leaf Oxidative Stress and Anthocyanin Accumulation in Hydroponically Grown Red Leaf Lettuce

open access: yesOxygen
Root pruning has been proposed as a practical method to regulate growth and metabolite accumulation in horticultural crops, yet its physiological and metabolic consequences in hydroponically grown lettuce remain poorly understood.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Transcriptome analysis of Azospirillum lipoferum during its interaction with rice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The associative symbiosis between Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria of the genus Azospirillum and cereals have mainly been studied from an agronomic and economic point of view, and several studies showed that plant morphological and metabolic changes ...

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Advances in Plant-Nematode Interactions with Emphasis on the Notorious Nematode Genus Meloidogyne. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Plant infections by plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs) continue to be one of the major limitations in agricultural systems. Root-knot nematodes (RKNs), belonging to the genus Meloidogyne, are one of the most important groups of PPNs worldwide.
