Optimizing immersion time and frequency in a twin-bottle temporary immersion system for mass production of Zingiber officinale Roscoe

open access: yesScientific Reports
Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) is a highly valued medicinal and culinary crop. However, conventional propagation using rhizomes is limited. This study aimed to optimize immersion conditions for the large-scale micropropagation of Z.

Anatomy and photosystem II activity of in vitro grown Aechmea blanchetiana as affected by 1-naphthaleneacetic acid

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2018
Auxins are one of the main regulators of in vitro plant growth and development. However, the mechanisms, by which auxins, such as 1-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), affect in vitro root and leaf anatomy and photosystem function, remain unclear. Accordingly,

PROPAGATION OF SAPOTA (CASIMIROA EDULIS) TREES BY USING TISSUE CULTURE TECHNIQUE [PDF]

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Desert Research, 2015
A promising method for in vitro propagationof white sapota (Casimiroa edulis L.) was established. Shoot tips and nodal segments of C. eduils were cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 2.22 µM 6-benzylamino purine (BAP) and 1.07µM ...

Decoding the dynamic extracellular matrix in cancer—3D models and bioscaffolds rewire the rules of tumor progression

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cancer progression is regulated by the dynamic matrix code of the tumor microenvironment, which influences cellular behavior and disease development. Importantly, matrix remodeling in three‐dimensional cancer models more accurately reflects in vivo conditions compared to conventional two‐dimensional systems.

Asymbiotic Seed Germination and In Vitro Propagation of the Thai Rare Orchid Species; Eulophia bicallosa (D.Don) P.F.Hunt & Summerh.

open access: yesPlants
An efficient in vitro propagation protocol for Eulophia bicallosa was developed using asymbiotic seed germination and protocorm proliferation. The effect of light on seed germination and development was evaluated on Vacin and Went (VW) medium under five ...

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

In Vitro Plant Regeneration And De Novo Differentiation Of Secretory Trichomes In Passiflora Foetida L. (passifloraceae)

open access: yes, 2015
The only species in the genus Passiflora (Passifloraceae) known to produce resin glands is P. foetida. These glands are secretory trichomes mainly present on the floral bracts and leaf stipules.

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Organic growth supplement stimulants for in vitro multiplication of Cymbidium pendulum (Roxb.) Sw.

open access: yesHorticultural Science, 2012
The aim of this study was to establish protocol for in vitro regeneration and multiplication of Cymbidium pendulum through protocorms, as explants using organic growth supplements such as banana homogenate, coconut water, and peptone.
