The Volume of Water Bills in the 1999 Virginia General Assembly

open access: yes, 1999
The Virginia General Assembly held its 1999 session from January 13 to February 27. During the regular session, lawmakers considered 2,735 bills and resolutions, compared to 2945 measures considered in the longer 1998 session.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Design and development of reverse osmosis (RO) plant status monitoring system for early fault prediction and predictive maintenance

open access: yesApplied Water Science, 2018
Automation and reliability are the crucial elements of any advance reverse osmosis plant to meet the environmental and economic demands. Early fault indication, diagnosis and regular maintenance are the key challenges with most of the reverse osmosis ...

Development of an integrated plant-based image sensing system for soil-water and nitrogen status estimation in cotton

open access: yes, 2015
Optimal crop yields require optimisation of both water and nitrogen application. Industry-standard soil-water sensors require contact with the soil and provide information for a single point in the field although there is often spatial variability in ...

Retrieval of Leaf Area Index (LAI) and Soil Water Content (WC) Using Hyperspectral Remote Sensing under Controlled Glass House Conditions for Spring Barley and Sugar Beet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Leaf area index (LAI) and water content (WC) in the root zone are two major hydro-meteorological parameters that exhibit a dominant control on water, energy and carbon fluxes, and are therefore important for any regional eco-hydrological or ...

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Water status in plant tissues measured by MRI

open access: yes, 2021
The main objective of this PhD thesis was to improve the understanding of the mechanisms involved in the relaxation of plant tissues by taking into account the composition of cell content and tissue microstructure. The effect of temperature, pH and solute content on T2 relaxation times has been described in the caseof solutions of simple sugars, as a ...

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...
