Ähre schmal-zylindrisch, 2-10(-20) cm lang. Einzelblüten ca. 2 mm lang, kahl, mit 4 gelblichen Zipfeln. Staubblätter zuerst lila, dann braungelb. Frucht 3-4 mm lang.
