Curved Retrograde TTC Fusion Nails

open access: yesFoot & Ankle Orthopaedics, 2017
Category: Hindfoot Introduction/Purpose: Retrograde intramedullary nailing is an established surgical procedure for tibiotalocalcaneal (TTC) fusion. The clinical incidence of plantar neurovascular damage secondary to TTC is poorly reported. Neurovascular

A Current Review of Foot Disorder and Plantar Pressure Alternation in the Elderly

open access: yesPhysical Activity and Health, 2020
Fall is a very common injury, especially in older adults with foot deformities and other foot disorders. Even a small fall may cause fatal damage to this cohort. The purpose of this study was to conduct a review elucidating plantar pressure pattern under

Quantum Photothermal Self‐Monitoring Fiber Probes for In Vivo Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A miniaturized quantum photothermal fiber probe based on a metal/polymer/glass composite optoelectronic fiber that simultaneously guides lightwave and microwave was developed for the first time. The probe achieves enhanced photothermal conversion (13°C/mW, 25°C–120°C range) while providing real‐time self‐monitoring with 0.2°C thermal resolution at the ...

Forefoot or rearfoot textured insoles influence postural sway and plantar pressure during quiet standing in community-dwelling older adults

open access: yesComplementary Therapies in Medicine
Background: Plantar cutaneous sensation declines with age, leading to alterations in the plantar pressure distribution and increased postural instability in older adults.

A Millimeter‐Scale Implantable Magneto–Mechano–Electric Transducer Based on BTO Piezoelectric Ceramics for Remote Wireless Electrical Stimulation of Injured Sciatic Nerves

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a fully wireless, circuit‐free neural stimulator built on a millimetric magneto‐mechano‐electric (MME) cantilever transducer (3 × 10 × 5 mm) with a barium titanate (BTO) piezoelectric ceramic core. Under low‐frequency alternating magnetic fields, the MME cantilever mechanically oscillates, inducing stress on the BTO element and thereby ...

A COMPARITIVE STUDY ON EFFECTIVENESS OF TAPING WITH IONTOPHORESIS AND TAPING ALONE IN CHRONIC PLANTAR FASCITIS

open access: yesInternational Journal of Physiotherapy, 2016
Background: Plantar fasciitis is a painful condition caused by microtrauma to plantar fascia due to overuse. It is a most common cause of heel pain in runners. Various studies proved taping and Iontophoresis as effective in the treating plantar fasciitis.

Lesion Site‐Targeted Microspheres Modulate Nav1.7‐Related Signaling for Osteoarthritis Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cartilage‐targeted carbamazepine‐loaded WYRGRL‐modified composite microspheres (CBZ/WCOM) anchor to exposed type II collagen in osteoarthritic lesions and release carbamazepine under acidic conditions. This bind‐then‐release platform modulates Nav1.7‐related sodium signaling, Na⁺/Ca²⁺ exchanger‐associated Ca2+ dynamics, and heat shock protein 70 ...

Targeting Dnmt3a/m5C/RelA Axis Attenuates Microglia Inflammatory Response and Improves Postoperative Recovery in Chronic Compressive Cervical Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A pro‐inflammatory microglial subset persists after decompression in chronic compressive cervical spinal cord injury and shows enhanced Dnmt3a‐driven m5C signaling. By stabilizing RelA mRNA, this axis sustains NF‐κB activation and postoperative neuroinflammation.

Synergistic Effect of Gradient Conductivity and Gradient Microstructures Enabled Ultrasensitive and Ultrabroad Linear Flexible Tactile Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A design of double gradient effect is proposed to resolve the contradictory optimization on sensitivity and linearity of piezoresistive tactile sensors. The ultrawide linearity is realized by the sequential trigger of pressure‐induced gradient conductivity‐enabled linear current owing to the gradient microstructures.
