Impact of Oxygen Plasma Pre‐Treatment on Thermal Oxidation and Reliability of SiO2 on 4H‐SiC

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
We investigate how oxygen plasma pre‐treatment affects the thermal oxidation of silicon carbide. While plasma modification increases growth rates by 84%, it reduces dielectric breakdown strength by 18%. Our findings reveal that although plasma improves the interface state density, it introduces structural damage, highlighting a critical trade‐off ...

Stereoscopic PIV measurement of boundary layer affected by DBD actuator

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
The effect of ionic wind generated by plasma actuator on developed boundary layer inside a narrow channel was investigated recently. Since the main investigated plane was parallel to the channel axis, the description of flow field was not evaluated ...

Plasma Synthetic Jet Actuators for Active Flow Control

open access: yesActuators, 2018
The plasma synthetic jet actuator (PSJA), also named as sparkjet actuator, is a special type of zero-net mass flux actuator, driven thermodynamically by pulsed arc/spark discharge. Compared to widely investigated mechanical synthetic jet actuators driven

Bonding of Acrylic Pressure‐Sensitive Adhesives and Silicone Elastomers via Surfactant‐Assisted Plasma Activation for Soft Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A simple strategy is presented for bonding acrylic PSAs and silicone elastomers by curing surfactant‐doped Ecoflex on oxygen‐plasma‐treated VHB. The interface reaches a maximum strength of 1.6 N/mm (over 20 times that of the control) while retaining material compliance.

Effect of the duty cycle on the spark-plug plasma synthetic jet actuator

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
A promising novel actuator called Spark-Plug Plasma Synthetic Jet (SPSJ) has been developed in Atmospheric Plasma Research Laboratory at Niğde University. It generates electrothermally high synthetic jet velocity by using high voltage.

Micropillar‐Engineered Hybrid Adhesive Patch for Surface‐Conformable and Directional Adhesion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work presents a surface‐conformable hybrid adhesive integrating height‐optimized hexagonal micropillars with open‐rectangular cuts. The micropillars enhance rough‐surface contact and microscale crack arrest, while the cuts guide and reverse interfacial cracks for strong and directional adhesion. The multiscale architecture achieves robust pull‐off

Characterization and Design Framework for Micro‐ and Nanoscale Printed Metal Interconnects in Hybrid Electronic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work establishes a framework for high‐resolution printed interconnects by coupling e‐jet printing control, multilayer deposition, and sintering optimization. Ink properties and printing speed influence particle stacking, while different sintering atmospheres drive distinct microstructural evolution.

Formal Verification of Probabilistic SystemC Models with Statistical Model Checking

open access: yes, 2017
Transaction-level modeling with SystemC has been very successful in describing the behavior of embedded systems by providing high-level executable models, in which many of them have inherent probabilistic behaviors, e.g., random data and unreliable ...
