Physics of high-power electron beam-plasma interaction

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1996
Results related to physics of collective interaction of a high‐power relativistic electron beam with a magnetized plasma are presented. The main regularities of this process are given. The observed peculiarities of hot plasma producing by E‐beam heating on the GOL‐3 device are discussed.

Physics of ion beam plasma and problems of intensive ion beam transportation (invited)a)

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1996
Studies considering the problem of intensive ion beam transportation on large distances are performed in the Institute of Physics, including three main aspects: (1) space charge compensation of a stationary steady state beam, (2) dynamic decompensation of a beam space charge resulting from the current modulation owing to ion source plasma instabilities,

Some particle beam computer programs adapted from plasma physics research

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1988
Many of the computer programs developed for plasma physics and high current beam research may be applicable to high energy accelerators and their microwave power supplies. This paper describes briefly the codes used by Mission Research Corporation for addressing the physics of high power microwave and charged particle beam generation and propagation ...

The physics of inertial fusion - Hydrodynamics, dense plasma physics, beam-plasma interaction

open access: yes, 2004
(From Oxford Scholarship Online) The book is devoted to targets for nuclear fusion by inertial confinement and to the various branches of physics involved. It first discusses fusion reactions and general requirements for fusion energy production. It then introduces and illustrates the concept of inertial confinement fusion by spherical implosion ...
