Density of the solar flare plasma
Energetic particles are imbedded in solar material ejected at low energy and commonly called the solar flare plasma. The density of this plasma is highly uncertain. The density of the plasma is estimated from the interaction of the solar cosmic rays with the plasma.

Chirp Mitigation of Plasma-Accelerated Beams by a Modulated Plasma Density [PDF]
Plasma-based accelerators offer the possibility to drive future compact light sources and high-energy physics applications. Achieving good beam quality, especially a small beam energy spread, is still one of the major challenges. For stable transport, the beam is located in the focusing region of the wakefield which covers only the slope of the ...

Reconfiguration of polar-cap plasma in the magnetic midnight sector [PDF]
Radio tomography and the EISCAT and Super-DARN radars have been used to identify long-lived, high-altitude, cold plasma in the antisunward convective flow across the polar cap.

Collimation of fast electrons in critical density plasma channel [PDF]
Significantly collimated fast electron beam with a divergence angle 10° (FWHM) is generated through the interaction of ultra-intense laser light with a uniform critical density plasma in experiments and 2D PIC simulations.

By taking the spin and polarization of the electrons, positrons and photons into account in the strong-field QED processes of nonlinear Compton emission and pair production, we find that the growth rate of QED cascades in ultra-intense laser fields can ...

Design considerations for the use of laser-plasma accelerators for advanced space radiation studies [PDF]
We present design considerations for the use of laser-plasma accelerators for mimicking space radiation and testing space-grade electronics. This novel application takes advantage of the inherent ability of laser-plasma accelerators to produce particle ...

Calibration of Swarm Plasma Densities Overestimation Using Neural Networks
Recent studies have shown that the measurements of Langmuir Probes (LPs) onboard ESA's Swarm mission overestimate ion densities on the nightside by up to 50%. The overestimation is due to the assumption of oxygen‐only plasma for ion density calculations,
