Diagnostics of active species in plasmas
A brief review is given of non-invasive diagnostics applicable to gas phase species in plasmas. Descriptions are given of spatially resolved measurements of both concentrations and energy distributions of atoms, radicals, ions and electrons, and of determinations of the fields which control their behaviour. Optical diagnostics which can be used in real

MOGAD Is the Most Common Cause of Isolated Optic Neuritis in Children
ABSTRACT Objectives The study aimed to characterize the clinical features, etiologies, and outcomes of isolated, first‐time pediatric ON in the post‐MOG‐IgG era. Methods This was a single‐center retrospective cohort study at Texas Children's Hospital of patients diagnosed with first‐time ON between 2018–2024, with follow‐up data collected through 2025.

Reconstruction of Tokamak Plasma Emissivity Distribution by Approximation with Basis Functions
The present study focuses on the development of a diagnostic system for measuring radiated power and core soft X-ray intensity emissions with the goal of detecting a broad spectrum of photon energies emitted from the central plasma region of the DEMO ...

Impact of Plasma p‐tau181 on Cognition, Motor Phenotypes, and Disease Course in ALS
ABSTRACT Phosphorylated tau181 (p‐tau181), an Alzheimer's disease biomarker, was recently evaluated in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). We investigated plasma p‐tau181 in 202 ALS/ALS‐FTD patients and 94 healthy controls, assessing cognitive performance, motor function, and longitudinal dynamics.

For proper operation of the tokamak, the active and simultaneous control of many plasma parameters is needed. This implies that new robust and failsafe diagnostic techniques need to be developed, for instance to control the temperature, density and current density profiles.

ABSTRACT Objective Variants in SLC6A1, encoding the GABA transporter 1 (GAT‐1), cause epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental delay via loss of GABA uptake, impaired trafficking, and ER retention. We previously found that 4‐Phenylbutyrate (PBA), an FDA‐approved drug, restores GABA uptake and reduces seizures in SLC6A1‐related disorders ...

Peripheral Neutrophil Activation and Extracellular Trap Formation in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Markers of neutrophil activation are increased in plasma during ALS, and markers of NET formation associate with ALS survival. ABSTRACT Objectives Peripheral neutrophil levels in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) inversely correlate with survival, suggesting a role for neutrophils in disease progression.

Advances in European in-kind contributions to plasma diagnostics and port integration for ITER
EURATOM contributions to the ITER Project include plasma and first wall diagnostics providing around a quarter of the primary measurements needed to avoid damage, to control the plasma and to explore its physics.

ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...
