A significant improvement of the wear resistance of Ti6Al4V alloy by a combined method of magnetron sputtering and plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO)

Surface & Coatings Technology, 2019
Titanium alloys own a series of advantages such as low density, high specific strength, and biocompatibility. However, the poor wear resistance of titanium alloys impedes their wide applications in industry.

Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) Coatings on Aluminum Alloys: Kinetics and Formation Mechanism

2019
In this review, the main kinetics and mechanism regularities of plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) of aluminum alloys are discussed. The material and heat balances of the PEO process, including anomalous gas evolution and possible thermochemical reactions are presented for the first time.

Effects of graphene oxide addition on wear behaviour of composite coatings fabricated by plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) on AZ91 magnesium alloy

, 2020
Graphene oxide (GO) integrated composite coatings were deposited on AZ91 magnesium alloys by the PEO (Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation) and the treatment which has a post-PEO hydrothermal process.

Role of graphene additive on wear and electrochemical corrosion behaviour of plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) coatings on Mg–MWCNT nanocomposite

Surface Engineering, 2019
In this study, wear and electrochemical corrosion behaviour of as-cast magnesium (Mg)/multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) and plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) coated Mg/MWCNT samples were evaluated by dry sliding wear tests and potentiodynamic corrosion

Corrosion, erosion and erosion–corrosion performance of plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) deposited Al2O3 coatings

Surface and Coatings Technology, 2005
Electrolytic plasma techniques have been used to surface modify 6082 aluminium alloy to a depth of 100 ?m. Potentiodynamic polarisations and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) have been made under static conditions in order to evaluate the corrosion performance of both unsealed and sealed PEO coatings.

Wear Protection of Al383/SiO2 Metal Matrix Composites by Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) Process

SAE International Journal of Materials and Manufacturing, 2010
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Al383/SiO₂ metal matrix composites (MMC) were designed to increase the wear properties of the Al alloy. However, the soft Al matrix was subject to large plastic deformation under high normal load during lubricated sliding wear tests, causing detachment of the reinforced ...

Impedance monitoring of corrosion degradation of plasma electrolytic oxidation coatings (PEO) on magnesium alloy

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2017
Abstract Impedance technique based on continuous multisinusoidal current perturbation was used to explain degradation process of plasma electrolytic oxidation coatings (PEO) on magnesium alloy. An obtained impedance spectrum was fitted by electrical equivalent circuit to describe properties of conversion layer on magnesium alloy.
