Unveiling Phonon Contributions to Thermal Conductivity and the Applicability of the Wiedemann—Franz Law in Ruthenium and Tungsten Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal transport in Ru and W thin films is studied using steady‐state thermoreflectance, ultrafast pump–probe spectroscopy, infrared‐visible spectroscopy, and computations. Significant Lorenz number deviations reveal strong phonon contributions, reaching 45% in Ru and 62% in W.

High‐Entropy Doped KTiOPO4‐Type Vanadium‐Based Fluorophosphate Cathodes for High‐Energy Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a high‐entropy doped NaV0.95 (Fe, Mn, Ni, Al, Ca)0.05PO4F cathode, which enables the whole utilization of Na ions, enhances the reaction kinetics without carbon coating, and realizes a solid‐solution reaction mechanism with a single‐crystal structure.

Artificial Compound Eye for Clear Vision in Harsh Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Artificial compound eye (CE) with exceptional imaging and motion tracking capturing the movement of a spider and swinging thread with a wide field of view. Surface modifications ensure clear vision of alphabetic letters in rain and fog. Images captured in fog with CE remains visible 3 times longer than simple eyes (SE).

Synthesis and Electronic Structure of the Fractionally Occupied Double Perovskite EuTa2O6 with Ordered Europium Vacancies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two‐dimensional electronic states are the foundation of modern semiconductor technology. Here, we report molecular‐beam epitaxy growth of fractional double perovskite, EuTa2O6. Reciprocal space mapping and transmission electron microscopy confirm a layered ordering of A‐site cations.
