Simulation Study on Effects of Hematocrit on Blood Flow Properties Using Particle Method

open access: yesJournal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering, 2006
The effects of hematocrit (Hct) on blood flow in microcirculation were investigated by computer simulation using a particle method. Deformable red blood cells (RBCs) and blood plasma were modeled by assembly of discrete particles.

Two-Dimensional Structure of Flow Channels and Associated Upward Field-Aligned Currents: Model and Observations

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2021
Flow bursts are a major component of transport within the plasma sheet and auroral oval (where they are referred to as flow channels), and lead to a variety of geomagnetic disturbances as they approach the inner plasma sheet (equatorward portion of the ...

On quasineutral plasma flow in the magnetic nozzle [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of Plasmas, 2021
Exact solutions for quasineutral plasma acceleration of magnetized plasma in the paraxial magnetic nozzle are obtained. It is shown that the non-monotonic magnetic field with a local maximum of the magnetic field is a necessary condition for the formation of the quasineutral accelerating potential structure.

Effects of dielectric-barrier-discharge plasma on soot and NOx in diffusion flame

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2022
In this study, we experimentally investigated soot and NOx in a diffusion flame on a coaxial burner. By applying a dielectric-barrier-discharge (DBD) plasma, we tried to reduce these emissions.

Plasma and Flows in the Heliosheath

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2015
Voyager 2 (V2) is now 20 AU deep into the heliosheath; if the heliosheath width were similar to that in the Voyager 1 (V1) direction, then V2 is 2/3 of the way to the heliopause. We present recent V2 observations, compare with observations from V1, and compare with model predictions.

The Current Status of the Magnetoplasma Compressor Device in Belgrade - Study of Plasma Facing Materials Important for Fusion Reactors [PDF]

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Description of Complex Systems, 2015
The magnetoplasma compressor, a quasi stationary plasma accelerator, is a source of supersonic compression plasma flow. High plasma parameters of compression flow, large flow velocity and discharge duration enable their efficient usage for development of
