Experimental results and analysis of plasma dynamics and radiation output of the 100 kV dense plasma focus FAETON-I [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
FAETON-I is the highest direct-charged voltage plasma focus (PF), at 100 kV, 1 MA peak current. F-I produces consistent $$2.5 \times 10^{10}$$ D-D neutrons/shot, over 3 MeV X-rays and $$\sim 350$$ keV deuterons, demonstrating unique combined neutron ...

Examining the role of freebase nicotine in the harm reduction potential of oral nicotine pouches versus moist snuff: A randomized crossover trial [PDF]

open access: yesAddiction, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and aims Oral nicotine pouches (ONPs) contain varying proportions of freebase nicotine (FBN), with higher FBN expected to increase nicotine delivery across the oral mucosa. Because ONPs contain fewer toxicants than moist snuff and may serve as a reduced harm alternative for smokeless tobacco, we compared how the FBN in ONPs affects ...

The Use of Stromal Vascular Fraction, Platelet-rich Plasma, and Stem Cells in the Treatment of Thumb Carpometacarpal Osteoarthritis [PDF]

open access: yesPlastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Global Open
Background:. Thumb function is integral to hand movement and overall hand function. Impairment, often caused by carpometacarpal (CMC) arthritis, reduces the quality of life.

Clathrins Are Involved in the Endocytosis of Host Cytosol in the Malaria Parasite [PDF]

open access: yesTraffic, Volume 27, Issue 1, March 2026.
This study characterized clathrin function in hemoglobin uptake from host red blood cells via the malaria parasite's specific endocytosis machinery, cytostome. Clathrin heavy chain, clathrin light chain, and AP‐1 γ subunit were found associated with certain proteins known to be involved in cytostome function, and they were localized at the collars of ...

Investigation of wire-array Z-pinches by laser probing diagnostics

open access: yesMatter and Radiation at Extremes, 2019
Laser diagnostics provides powerful tools for the investigation of dense Z-pinches. In this paper, wire-array Z-pinches are investigated at the 1 MA Zebra generator using laser diagnostics at different wavelengths coupled with x-ray ...

Comparison of measured pinch parameters versus pressure for SABALAN1 plasma focus facility against computed values using Lee model code

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
In this paper, we have studied the effect of working gas pressure on plasma pinch properties in a Mather type plasma focus (2 kJ, 20 kV, 10 μF), named SABALAN1.

Microtearing Modes in Reversed Field Pinch Plasmas [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2010
In the reversed field pinch RFX-mod strong electron temperature gradients develop when the Single-Helical-Axis regime is achieved. Gyrokinetic calculations show that in the region of the strong temperature gradients microtearing instabilities are the dominant turbulent mechanism acting on the ion Larmor radius scale.

The Effect of Neutral Atoms on Capillary Discharge Z-pinch [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We study the effect of neutral atoms on the dynamics of a capillary discharge Z-pinch, in a regime for which a large soft-x-ray amplification has been demonstrated.

Boron deficiency responses in maize (Zea mays L.) roots

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Background Boron (B) is an essential micronutrient for plants. Dicot plants respond to insufficient B supply by altering root architecture and root hair growth. How root systems of rather low‐B demanding monocot species such as maize (Zea mays L.) respond to B deficiency in terra has not been experimentally resolved, yet.
