Co‐overexpression of the caloric restriction‐induced mitochondrial factors PGC‐1α and MIPEP upregulates Phospho1 expression in adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Caloric restriction that extends lifespan induces the expression of PGC‐1α and MIPEP in white adipose tissue. In this study, co‐overexpression of Pgc‐1α and Mipep upregulated the gene expression of PHOSPHO1. These findings provide new insights into mitochondria‐related mechanisms underlying the effects of caloric restriction in adipocytes.

A comparison of insulin binding by liver plasma membranes of rats fed a high glucose diet or a high fat diet

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1977
The interaction of 125I-labeled insulin with purified liver plasma membrane from rats fed a high fat (L) diet or a high glucose (G) diet was studied with respect to specific binding, insulin degradation, binding site degradation, and rate of hormone ...

Novel GFP-fused protein probes for detecting phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate in the plasma membrane

open access: yesAnimal Cells and Systems, 2019
Phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate (PI4P) plays a crucial role in cellular functions, including protein trafficking, and is mainly located in the cytoplasmic surface of intracellular membranes, which include the trans-Golgi network (TGN) and the plasma ...

The CAMP-binding Ectoprotein from Saccharomyces cereuisiae Is Membrane-anchored by Glycosyl-Phosphatidylinositol [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Saccharomyces cerevisiae contains an amphiphilic CAMP-binding glycoprotein at the outer face of the plasma membrane (M, = 54,000). It is converted to a hydrophilic form byt reatment withg lycosyl-phosphatidylinositol- specific phospholipases C and D ...

Liver‐specific lncRNAs associated with liver cancers

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are regulatory molecules with various functions. They are more tissue‐specific than proteins and can be used as potential biomarkers, particularly in cancer diagnostics and prognosis. In this review, we have systematically compiled all lncRNAs with exclusive expression in the human liver, verified their liver specificity ...

Autolytic Activity and Plasma Binding Study of Aap, a Novel Minor Autolysin of Streptococcus pneumoniae

open access: yesActa Medica Iranica, 2016
Pneumococcal autolysins are enzymes involved in cell wall turnover and cellular division physiologically. They have been found to be involved in the pneumococcus pathogenesis.

CNS Mitochondria‐Derived Vesicle in Blood: Potential Biomarkers for Brain Mitochondria Dysfunction

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mitochondrial dysfunction is a hallmark of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's (AD) and Parkinson's (PD). Our goal was to develop practical, noninvasive methods to assess mitochondrial status through the detection of mitochondria‐derived vesicles (MDVs).
