Effect of pressure on the performance of plasma synthetic jet actuator
Science China Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy, 2014The effects of the ambient air pressure level on the performance of plasma synthetic jet actuator have been investigated through electrical and optical diagnostics. Pressures from 1 atm down to 0.1 atm were tested with a 10 Hz excitation. The discharge measurement demonstrates that there is a voltage range to make the actuator work reliably.

Semiconductor enhanced plasma synthetic jet actuator
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2020Abstract Designing a plasma synthetic jet actuator (PSJA) with high efficiency and low driving voltage is a permanent and unchangeable pursuit for researchers. Based on the surface flashover phenomenon of semiconductors, a novel semiconductor enhanced PSJA (SEPSJA) is put forward.

On Plasma Synthetic Jet Actuators
44th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit, 2006The term plasma actuator refers to an asymmetric arrangement of two electrodes (typically rectangular strips) separated by dielectric material that can be used as active flow control devices. A plasma actuator design consisting of an annular electrode array, the plasma synthetic jet actuator (PSJA), is experimentally investigated in this paper.

A self-trigger three-electrode plasma synthetic jet actuator
Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2021Abstract As a potential active flow control technology, plasma synthetic jet actuator (PSJA) has shown wide and promising application prospects in the high-speed flow. However, the application of PSJA is still limited by the low energy transfer efficiency and high driving voltage. This study presents a novel and practical self-trigger three-electrode

Flow control with plasma synthetic jet actuators
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2007This paper presents an experimental investigation of the characteristics of a plasma actuator design for flow control consisting of an annular electrode in quiescent and flat plate boundary layer flows. In quiescent flow, the circular plasma region produced on actuation was observed to generate a vertical zero-net mass flux (or synthetic) jet, hence ...
