The plasma transport process is important for the ionosphere of Mars, which controls the structure of the ionosphere above an altitude of 200 km. Plasma transport from the dayside ionosphere is crucial for producing the nightside ionosphere on Mars.

Transport Coefficients of a Gluon Plasma [PDF]
Transport coefficients of gluon plasma are calculated for a SU(3) pure gauge model by lattice QCD simulations on $16^3 \times 8$ and $24^3 \times 8$ lattices. Simulations are carried out at a slightly above the deconfinement transition temperature $T_c$, where a new state of matter is currently being pursued in RHIC experiments.

Geospace: The naturally occurring plasma laboratory
While the societal relevance of space physics drives most of the research in the field, this paper argues for the merit in addressing problems that are core to plasma physics, regardless of discipline or application to society.

By using a database of 4,634 cold patches (high density and low electron temperature) and 4,700 hot patches (high density and high electron temperature) from Defense Meteorological Satellite Program F16 in 2005–2018 winter months (October–March), we ...

Data-driven electrical conductivities of dense plasmas
A wide range of theoretical and computational models have been developed to predict the electrical transport properties of dense plasmas, in part because dense plasma experiments explore order-of-magnitude excursions in temperature and density; in ...

The Barkas effect in plasma transport [PDF]
Molecular dynamics simulations reveal that a fundamental symmetry of the plasma kinetic theory is broken at moderate to strong Coulomb coupling: the collision rate depends on the signs of the colliding charges. This symmetry breaking is analogous to the Barkas effect observed in charged-particle stopping experiments and gives rise to significantly ...

First-principles based plasma profile predictions for optimized stellarators
In the present Letter, first-of-its-kind computer simulations predicting plasma profiles for modern optimized stellarators—while self-consistently retaining neoclassical transport, turbulent transport with 3D effects, and external physical sources—are ...

Transport coefficients of a relativistic plasma [PDF]
In this work, a self-consistent transport theory for a relativistic plasma is developed. Using the notation of Braginskii [S. I. Braginskii, in Reviews of Plasma Physics, edited by M. A. Leontovich (Consultants Bureau, New York, 1965), Vol. 1, p.

Transport Processess in the Plasma Edge [PDF]
Basic properties of the plasma edge in magnetically confined fusion plasmas are summarized. Starting from the magnetic topology of tokamaks we describe the transport of the scrape-off layer includi...
