TRANSPORT COEFFICIENTS OF DENSE PLASMAS

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique Colloques, 1980
Recent attempts to construct a kinetic theory for strongly coupled plasmas are discussed. The predictions of these theories for the shear viscosity and the self-diffusion coefficient of a one-component plasma are in good agreement with the available computer simulation data throughout the whole fluid phase.

Numerical investigation on lithium transport in the edge plasma of EAST real-time- Li-injection experiments in the frame of BOUT++

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2017
To study the transport of Li species in the plasma with real-time Li aerosol injection on EAST, a model has been developed by reducing Braginskii's equations, and implemented in the frame of BOUT++.

Charge Transport in Magnetized Plasma

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2017
The plasma source can restrict the motion of charges that are localizing in the non equilibrium distribution of charge energy and reducing the electrons transport across magnetic field .

A spatially hybrid fluid-kinetic neutral model for SOLPS-ITER plasma edge simulations

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2019
Plasma edge transport simulations typically rely on Monte-Carlo simulations for the kinetic neutral transport. However, for detached operating conditions the dominance of charge-exchange reactions between plasma and neutrals leads to excessive ...

Comprehensive study of SNAREs involved in the post-Golgi transport in Drosophila photoreceptors

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology
Polarized transport is essential for the construction of multiple plasma membrane domains within cells. Drosophila photoreceptors serve as excellent model systems for studying the mechanisms of polarized transport.

Plasma edge and plasma-wall interaction modelling: Lessons learned from metallic devices

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2017
Robust power exhaust schemes employing impurity seeding are needed for target operational scenarios in present day tokamak devices with metallic plasma-facing components (PFCs). For an electricity-producing fusion power plant at power density Psep/R>15MW/

A Charge Transport Closure Model for Plasma-Assisted Laminar Diffusion Flames

open access: yesThermo
Electrohydrodynamic effects can significantly alter transport processes in reacting flows, even when the plasma is weakly ionized. However, predictive modeling of such plasma–flame interactions remains challenging due to the multiscale coupling among ...

Diffusion Metamaterials for Plasma Transport

open access: yes
AbstractPlasma technology has found widespread applications in numerous domains, yet the techniques to manipulate plasma transport predominantly rely on magnetic control. In this chapter, we present a streamlined diffusion-migration method to characterize plasma transport.

Pedestal main ion particle transport inference through gas puff modulation with experimental source measurements

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
Transport in the DIII-D high confinement mode (H-mode) pedestal is investigated through a periodic edge gas puff modulation (GPM) which perturbs the deuterium density and source profiles.
