Second harmonic electromagnetic emission of a turbulent magnetized plasma driven by a powerful electron beam

open access: yes, 2012
The power of second harmonic electromagnetic emission is calculated for the case when strong plasma turbulence is excited by a powerful electron beam in a magnetized plasma.

Enhanced Endoscopic Internal Drainage of Gastric Abscess Through Additively Manufactured Stents

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Postoperative gastric leaks are often treated with off‐label biliary double‐pigtail stents, yet conventional extruded designs are not optimized for leak anatomy, can migrate, and may limit abscess evacuation. PETALS is introduced to optimize transmural drainage geometry and enable patient‐specific 3D‐printable stents.

Wavelet analysis of magnetic turbulence in the Earth's plasma sheet

open access: yes, 2004
Recent studies provide evidence for the multi-scale nature of magnetic turbulence in the plasma sheet. Wavelet methods represent modern time series analysis techniques suitable for the description of statistical characteristics of multi-scale turbulence.

A Superhydrophobic 3D Cell Culture System Reveals the Mechanobiological Role of Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts in Prostate Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A superhydrophobic 3D cell culture platform enables rapid and consistent formation of heterotypic tumor–stroma clusters, and reveals how physiological shear conditions influence metastatic signaling. Mechanical stimulation of cancer‐associated fibroblasts promotes sustained cytokine secretion and survival‐promoting pathways, showing how multicellular ...

Survival of 2D Turbulence in the Local Interstellar Medium

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
The evolution of 2D turbulence in the partially ionized local interstellar medium is investigated using 2D MHD simulations coupled with a neutral hydrogen gas via charge exchange.

Global 3D full-scale turbulence simulations of TCV-X21 experiments with SOLEDGE3X

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
First principle modelling of edge plasma turbulence including neutrals and plasma recycling on the wall remains a challenge, in particular due to the long time scales necessary to simulate to reach particle balance.

Ion kinetic effects linked to magnetic field discontinuities in the slow Alfvénic wind observed by Solar Orbiter in the inner heliosphere

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2023
Slow solar wind, sharing magnetic and plasma properties typical of fast wind, the so-called slow Alfvénic wind, has been widely observed in the heliosphere.

Plasma turbulence within cometary plasma environments

open access: yes, 2023
We present a numerical work in which the interaction between a comet and the solar wind is studied in 2D in the plane perpendicular to the solar wind mean field direction. Our simulations are conducted with the hybrid Particle-in-Cell (PIC) code Menura that allows for the injection of a turbulent solar wind [1].First, we consider the case of laminar ...

Enhanced Energy Conversion by Turbulence in Collisionless Magnetic Reconnection

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Magnetic reconnection and turbulence are two of the most significant mechanisms for energy dissipation in collisionless plasma. The role of turbulence in magnetic reconnection poses an outstanding problem in astrophysics and plasma physics.
