Plasma rotation in a plasma generator

Physical Review E, 2000
The plasma rotation in a linear magnetic configuration has been investigated by means of high-resolution Doppler-spectroscopy. The effects of external device parameters and ion mass as well as the radial profiles have been studied. A simple model, based on the conservation of the total angular momentum, explains the main empirically determined ...

Wearable Plasma Clothes of Plasma Pad, Plasma Cap, and Plasma Shoes

2018 IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS), 2018
Wearable plasma clothes are fabricated as hybrid type of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma treatment system, whereby the restrictions on treatment time and size of the treated area are eliminated. A flexible and wearable plasma system of various sizes can be applied to skin, head, and feet of human.

Wearable plasma-pads for healthcare applications: Plasma patch, plasma bandage, plasma socks, and plasma cap

2016 IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS), 2016
Wearable plasma-devices involving a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) are introduced. The conventional devices of the atmospheric pressure plasmas, a DBD and a plasma jet developed last decades, have an inconvenient for some cases requiring a frequent treatment, a long period therapy, and a significantly large area to be exposed with the plasma.

COMPLEXITY IN PLASMAS

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2006
We give here a brief introduction to the plasma state. We consider the basic resonance processes in a plasma, in particular, the mode resonances and the particle resonances. We discuss the various mechanisms leading to complex behavior of particles and waves in a plasma.

Plasma chemistry of fluorocarbons as related to plasma etching and plasma polymerization

1981
This chapter deals with the physical and chemical processes which take place in fluorocarbon plasmas. Emphasis is given to plasma diagnostic techniques which are well suited to investigate the neutral and ionized gas phase species as well as plasma-surface interactions.

Plasma maser theory for magnetized plasma

Physical Review A, 1987
The plasma maser theory of Langmuir waves produced from interaction between ion-wave turbulence and electrons in magnetized plasma is presented. The most dominant destabilizing effect comes from the polarization term. The instability occurs even for the Maxwell electron distribution function.

Effects of Plasma Boundaries in Plasma Oscillations

Physical Review, 1950
The discussion of electron plasma oscillations is extended to include some of the effects of boundaries. It is first shown that an electron taking part in a traveling plasma oscillation will be reflected at a sheath of infinitesimal thickness with velocity appropriate to the oscillation traveling in the reverse direction. This means that standing waves

Effect of plasma nonlinearity on the beam-plasma interaction in a hybrid plasma waveguide

Plasma Physics Reports, 2001
A study is made of the characteristic features of the effect of plasma nonlinearity in a slow-wave structure on microwave generation by an electron beam and on electron beam energy losses. Theoretical results on the plasma density variation, the amplitude of the excited microwaves, and the velocity distribution function of the beam electrons are ...

Transverse Plasma Waves and Plasma Vortices

Physical Review, 1958
Plasmas at high-electron temperatures can carry transverse waves in which self-magnetic fields and relativistic effects become important. The relativistic perturbation equations for an isotropic uniform plasma are solved as an initial-value problem, i.e., by Laplace transformation and the propagation or dispersal of both longitudinal and transverse ...
