Plasmon-polariton self-induced transparency
JETP Letters, 2010The formation and evolution of a localized plasmon-polariton soliton in a metallic cylinder surrounded by a layer of two-level atoms with a frequency close to the plasmon resonance have been investigated. The dynamics of the transverse plasmons in a extended medium is described in the hydrodynamic approximation.

Plasmon-induced transparency in terahertz metamaterials
2012 37th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves, 2012Recently, considerable studies have shown that plasmon induced transparency (PIT) effect can be realized by metamaterials via destructive interference between different resonance modes. Here we present a few recent developments of PIT research in terahertz metamaterials.

Plasmon-induced transparency in terahertz metamaterials
Science China Information Sciences, 2013The quantum phenomena of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) or plasmonic analogue of electromagnetically induced transparency (PIT) can be mimicked in the classical resonators, leading to a unique way to explore the coherent coupling mechanism in metamaterial systems.

Plasmon dromions in a metamaterial via plasmon-induced transparency
Physical Review A, 2016We propose a scheme to realize a giant Kerr nonlinearity and create stable high-dimensional nonlinear plasmon polaritons via plasmon-induced transparency (PIT) in a metamaterial, which is constructed by an array of unit cell consisting of a cut-wire and a pair of varactor-loaded split-ring resonators.

Multiple plasmon-induced transparencies in coupled-resonator systems
Optics Letters, 2012Multiple plasmon-induced transparencies are numerically predicted in an ultracompact plasmonic structure, comprising series of stub resonators side-coupled with a metal-isolator-metal waveguide. Because of the phase-coupled effect, electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT)-like spectral response occurs between two adjacent stub resonators with ...

Novel plasmonic sensor design using plasmon-induced transparency
2010 IEEE Sensors, 2010We introduce a novel sensor concept in the field of plasmonics, namely plasmon-induced transparency sensors. These sensors combine localized particle plasmon resonances with extremely small sensing volume with excellent sharp spectral resonances that show a good respose to refractive index changes of the surrounding environment.

Plasmon-induced transparency in coupled triangle-rod arrays
Nanotechnology, 2014We demonstrate polarization-dependent plasmon-induced transparency in coupled triangle-rod arrays. The observed phenomenon is the result of the destructive interference between the bright and dark resonators in this coupled system, which is verified through the numerical simulations using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method.

Graphene-based tunable terahertz plasmon-induced transparency metamaterial
Nanoscale, 2016A novel terahertz plasmon induced transparency (PIT) metamaterial structure consisting of single-layered graphene microstructures was proposed and numerically studied in this study. A pronounced transparency peak was obtained in the transmission spectrum, which resulted from the destructive interference between the graphene dipole and monopole antennas.

Uniform theoretical description of plasmon-induced transparency in plasmonic stub waveguide
Optics Letters, 2014We investigate a classic analog of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in a metal-dielectric-metal (MDM) bus waveguide coupled to two stub resonators. A uniform theoretical model, for both direct and indirect couplings between the two stubs, is established to study spectral features in the plasmonic stub waveguide, and the theoretical ...

Multispectral Plasmon Induced Transparency in a Defective Metasurface Plasmonic Nanostructure
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2018The investigation of plasmon induced transparency (PIT) resonances is performed in a system based on defective and complete silver nanostrips. The response of metasurface systems to electromagnetic fields under normal incidence is endowed by unique features, including some exquisite spatial phenomena.
