Analysis of Elasto-plastic Contact and Accuracy Loss of Planetary Roller Screw Pair Considering Radial Load

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2022
The elasto-plastic deformation of planetary roller screw pair under short-term high overload will reduce the transmission accuracy and increase the friction torque, which will affect the service life.

Deformation Behavior of Bulk Metallic Glasses and High Entropy Alloys under Complex Stress Fields: A Review

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
The plastic deformation of bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) depends significantly on applied stress states, and more importantly, in practical applications of BMGs as structural materials, they always deform under complex stress fields.

Large deformation plasticity

open access: yesActa Mechanica Sinica, 2020
AbstractThe theory of plasticity as a special field of continuum mechanics deals with the irreversible, i.e. permanent, deformation of solids. Under the action of given loads or deformations, the state of the stresses and strains or the strain rates in these bodies is described.

Slip Localization Intensification Mediated by Grain Boundary Sliding in a Polycrystalline Nickel‐Based Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The temperature dependence of fatigue behavior in nickel‐based superalloys is investigated through high‐resolution measurements of plastic localization. While increasing temperature reduces localization and enhances fatigue performance in René 88DT, Inconel 718 exhibits a sharp degradation at intermediate temperature due to intensified slip ...

Thermomechanical Variational Principles for Dissipative Materials with Application to Strain Localization in Bulk Metallic Glasses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This thesis is concerned with variational principles for general coupled thermomechanical problems in dissipative materials including finite elastic and plastic deformation, non-Newtonian viscosity, rate sensitivity, arbitrary flow and hardening rule, as

Fatigue Crack Initiation and Growth in Nanocrystalline Ni at Multiple Length‐Scales

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Overview of miniaturized in situ SEM fatigue setup and resultant fatigue crack growth data for nanocrystalline Ni. The presented study focuses on the analysis of fatigue crack growth rate (FCGR) in focused ion beam‐notched microcantilevers prepared from nanocrystalline (NC) Ni as a model material.

Creep‐Induced Microstructural Evolution in an A2‐B2 Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A 27.3Ta‐27.3Mo‐27.3Ti‐8Cr‐10Al (at.%) refractory high‐entropy alloy with precipitation‐strengthened A2‐B2 microstructure was studied by creep tests at 1030°C, which demonstrate a transition in deformation mechanisms in the range of 100–150 MPa applied stress. This is associated with changes in dislocation–precipitate interactions. Relevant deformation

A plastic load criterion for inelastic design by analysis

open access: yes, 2006
The allowable plastic load in pressure vessel design by analysis is determined by applying a graphical construction to a characteristic load-deformation plot of the collapse behavior of the vessel.

Deformation properties of remolded loess compacted via vertical vibration compaction method

open access: yesJournal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering (English ed. Online)
To investigate the deformation properties of remolded loess subgrade under long-term cyclic dynamic loading, remolded loess specimens compacted via vertical vibration compaction method were produced and some factors influencing elastic strain and ...

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.
