Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Research on Quasi-Elastic–Plastic Optimization of Reinforced Concrete Frame–Shear Wall Structures

open access: yesBuildings
Precise determination of structural elastic–plastic displacement and component states under rare earthquakes is crucial for structural design. This article proposes a quasi-elastic–plastic optimization method for reinforced concrete structures. First, an

High Temperature Cyclic Plastic Response of New-Generation ODS Alloy

open access: yesMetals, 2020
The very recently developed coarse-grained new-generation oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) alloys containing 5 vol.% homogeneously distributed yttrium nano-precipitates seems to be a promising oxidation-resistant structural material for applications ...

Plastic shear response of a single asperity: a discrete dislocation plasticity analysis

open access: yesPhilosophical Magazine, 2015
We investigate the plastic shear response during static friction of an asperity protruding from a large FCC single crystal. The asperity is in perfectly adhesive contact with a rigid platen and is sheared by tangentially moving the platen. Using discrete dislocation plasticity simulations, we elucidate the plastic shear behaviour of single asperities ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Application of thermodynamics-based rate-dependent constitutive models of concrete in the seismic analysis of concrete dams

open access: yesWater Science and Engineering, 2008
This paper discusses the seismic analysis of concrete dams with consideration of material nonlinearity. Based on a consistent rate-dependent model and two thermodynamics-based models, two thermodynamics-based rate-dependent constitutive models were ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...
