PLASTICITY INDEX EFFECTS ON MECHANICAL BIFURCATION: SOILS AND SOFT-SEDIMENT DEFORMATION
: Yielded specimens have various deformation patterns depending on loading stages and stress ratios in spite of the same geomaterials (e.g. soils and soft-sediment).

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

How to measure bacterial genome plasticity? A novel time-integrated index helps gather insights on pathogens [PDF]
Genome plasticity can be defined as the capacity of a bacterial population to swiftly gain or lose genes. The time factor plays a fundamental role for the evolutionary success of microbes, particularly when considering pathogens and their tendency to ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Liquefaction Of Low Plasticity Silts
The influence of plasticity index on the liquefaction potential of silty soil of low plasticity (PI of 1·7 to 3·4) has been studied in detail. The change in plasticity index was achieved by mixing the low plasticity silt with 5 and 10% by weight of ...
