Analysis of optimized plates for buckling
Computers & Structures, 1991Summary: This paper is concerned with the analysis of optimized plates for buckling. The Rayleigh-Ritz technique is used to solve variable thickness rectangular plates. A double sine series is used to represent the lateral displacements and convergence is attained for a six term series.

Buckling of Orthotropic Circular Plates
AIAA Journal, 1973Exact closed form solutions in terms of Bessel and Lommel functions are obtained for the symmetric buckling of cylindrically aeolotropic circular plates. Closed form solutions are also obtained for the first asymmetric mode of buckling. Further, a series solution is proposed for higher asymmetric modes of buckling.

Buckling of rectangular mindlin plates
Computers & Structures, 1982Abstract The elastic buckling of rectangular Mindlin plates is considered using two related methods of analysis. These methods are the Rayleight-Ritz method and one of its piece-wise forms, the finite strip method. Arbitrary combinations of the standard boundary conditions of clamped, simply-supported and free edges are accommodated by the use in the

Secondary Buckling of Circular Plates
SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1974It is shown by using a formal perturbation expansion, that unsymmetric equilibrium states branch from axisymmetric buckled states of the uniformly compressed and clamped circular plate. The process is called secondary buckling and the edge thrusts at which the branchings occur are called the secondary buckling loads.
