On Plate Buckling Coefficients
Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1986Though thin plates have a useful reserve of elastic postbuckling strength, the linear buckling load remains an important design parameter. White and Cottingham have published useful graphs of buckling coefficients versus aspect ratio for various partial edge loadings and for simply‐supported as well as for fixed‐edge boundaries.

The Plate Buckling Coefficient
The Journal of the Royal Aeronautical Society, 1967SummaryThe stability of a compressed plate is examined, using the energy method, with transverse deflections defined by a function giving the exact shape, but never specified. By this means it is possible to make observations about the form of the plate buckling coefficient.

2006
This chapter is concerned with the plastic buckling of thick plates. Considering the two plasticity theories (i.e., the incremental theory of plasticity with the Prandtl-Reuss constitutive equations and the deformation theory of plasticity with the Hencky stress-strain relation), the governing equations for plastic buckling of thick (Mindlin) plates ...

Buckling of a piezoelectric plate
International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 1998Equations for the buckling of a thin piezoelectric plate are obtained from an existing set of equations for the extension and flexure of piezoelectric plates. The equations for buckling are specialized for piezoelectric ceramic plates poled in the thickness direction. Solutions for the buckling of a ceramic plate into cylindrical shape and the buckling

Buckling of Rectangular Plates
2017The stability of rectangular plates with induced in-plane compressive stresses resulting from the mechanical or thermal loads is discussed in this chapter. The kinematical relations, constitutive law, the equilibrium equations, and the stability equations for a rectangular plate are derived and the classical boundary conditions are presented.
