Predictive Equation for Angle Opening Distance at 750 μm After Laser Peripheral Iridotomy in Primary Angle Closure Suspects

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2021
Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the changes in anterior segment parameters as assessed by ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) after laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) and to propose a prediction equation for the width of the angle after LPI.Design:

Plateau Iris - Therapeutic options and functional results after treatment. [PDF]

open access: yesRom J Ophthalmol, 2017
We present the therapeutic options and functional results in patients with plateau iris (syndrome or configuration) in consecutive case series. Material and method: Our study included newly diagnosed patients with acute angle closure by "plateau iris" (configuration or syndrome), between June 2016 and April 2017.

Qualitative ultrasound biomicroscopy in glaucoma

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2023
Background: UBM is a high-resolution ultrasound technique which allows non-invasive, in vivo imaging of the anterior segment and iridocorneal angle.

A review of the role of ultrasound biomicroscopy in glaucoma associated with rare diseases of the anterior segment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Ultrasound biomicroscopy is a non-invasive imaging technique, which allows high-resolution evaluation of the anatomical features of the anterior segment of the eye regardless of optical media transparency.

A dual output polarimeter devoted to the study of the Cosmic Microwave Background [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We have developed a correlation radiometer at 33 GHz devoted to the search for residual polarization of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB). The two instruments`s outputs are linear combination of two Stokes Parameters (Q and U or U and V).

Qualitative evaluation of anterior segment in angle closure disease using anterior segment optical coherence tomography

open access: yesJournal of Current Ophthalmology, 2016
Purpose: To evaluate different mechanisms of primary angle closure (PAC) and to quantify anterior chamber (AC) parameters in different subtypes of angle closure disease using anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT).

Temporal evolution of multiple evaporating ribbon sources in a solar flare [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We present new results from the Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph showing the dynamic evolution of chromospheric evaporation and condensation in a flare ribbon, with the highest temporal and spatial resolution to date.

Medical and Surgical Treatment of Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma

open access: yesTürk Oftalmoloji Dergisi, 2012
Primary angle closure glaucoma occurs when pathologies in the relative/absolute sizes or positions of anterior segment structures or abnormal forces in the posterior segment structures apply pressure on the peripheral iris, causing iridocorneal angle ...

Plateau iris secondary to iridociliary cysts

open access: yesArchivos de la Sociedad Española de Oftalmología (English Edition), 2015
We present a case of plateau iris and glaucoma due to multiple unilateral iridociliary cysts. The patient was treated with iridotomy Nd: YAG laser and 360° iridoplasty, without achieving pressure control. Phacoemulsification improved the hypertension.
