Platelet-Activating Factor Acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH)
Journal of Biochemistry, 2002Platelet-activating factor (PAF) is one of the most potent lipid messengers involved in a variety of physiological events. The acetyl group at the sn-2 position of its glycerol backbone is essential for its biological activity, and its deacetylation induces loss of activity. The deacetylation reaction is catalyzed by PAF-acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH).

Platelet activating factor (PAF) and lyso-PAF in psoriasis
Archives of Dermatological Research, 1994Previous studies have shown that scale from lesional psoriatic skin contains substantial amounts of platelet activating factor (PAF). In this study, PAF and its immediate precursor, lyso-PAF, were measured in exudates from abrasions on lesional and uninvolved psoriatic skin, and from skin of healthy subjects.

Platelet Activating Factor (PAF): A Mediator of Inflammation
BioFactors, 2022AbstractPlatelet‐activating factor (PAF) is a phospholipid‐derived mediator with an established role in multiple inflammatory states. PAF is synthesized and secreted by multiple cell types and is then rapidly hydrolyzed and degraded to an inactive metabolite, lyso‐PAF, by the enzyme PAF acetylhydrolase.

Procoagulant property of platelet activating factor (PAF)
Agents and Actions, 1993Platelet-activating factor (PAF) is known to activate platelets and thus promote clot formation in most mammalian species including humans. In this communication, the ability of PAF to hasten the overall coagulation process by measuring the recalcification time (RT) is described.

Plasma platelet activating factor-acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH)
Progress in Lipid Research, 2003The platelet-activating factor-acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH) is an enzyme which catalyzes the hydrolysis of acetyl ester at the sn-2 position of PAF. The family of PAF-AHs consists of two intracellular isoforms (Ib and II), and one secreted isoform (plasma). These PAF-AHs show different biochemical characteristics and molecular structures. Plasma PAF-AH and
