A theoretical framework for multi-physics modeling of poro-visco-hyperelasticity-induced time-dependent fracture of blood clots [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Fracture resistance of blood clots plays a crucial role in physiological hemostasis and pathological thromboembolism. Although recent experimental and computational studies uncovered the poro-viscoelastic property of blood clots and its connection to the time-dependent deformation behavior, the effect of these time-dependent processes on clot fracture ...

Nomogram for Deep Vein Thrombosis Prediction Post‐Endovascular Thrombectomy in Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Retrospective Multicenter Observational Study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Nursing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a frequent complication following endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) in patients with acute ischaemic stroke (AIS), potentially leading to fatal pulmonary embolism (PE). Identifying patients early at high risk for DVT is clinically important.

Hyperelasticity of Blood Clots: Bridging the Gap between Microscopic and Continuum Scales [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The biomechanical properties of blood clots, which are dictated by their compositions and micro-structures, play a critical role in determining their fates, occlusion, persistency, or embolization in the human circulatory system. While numerous constitutive models have emerged to describe the biomechanics of blood clots, the majority of these models ...

Modified minimally invasive surgical technique with clindamycin‐augmented or non‐augmented platelet‐rich fibrin in periodontal regeneration: A randomized clinical trial

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
Graphical abstract illustrating the clinical trial's design, findings and conclusion. I‐PRF with M‐MIST significantly improved periodontal outcomes over 9 months, yet an adjunctive sustained release of CLN from the I‐PRF did not provide further clinical benefits.

Steroid‐responsive generalised sterile necrotising pyogranulomatous lymphadenitis in a cat

open access: yesJournal of Small Animal Practice, EarlyView.
A 1.5‐year‐old neutered male cat was presented with fever, inappetence, lethargy and marked generalised lymphadenopathy of 4 days duration. Excisional biopsy of peripheral lymph nodes revealed necrotising pyogranulomatous lymphadenitis. Extensive investigation failed to identify an underlying infectious [bacterial (Bartonella, Mycobacteria, Mycoplasma,
