Maternal inflammatory biomarkers and neonatal characteristics as predictors of bronchopulmonary dysplasia in preterm infants: a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
BackgroundMaternal peripartum inflammation may contribute to bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in preterm infants, yet readily available hematologic predictors are underexplored.

Design of Single‐Atom Nanozymes for Precision Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction with Integrated Single‐Cell RNA Sequencing and Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
It is innovatively utilized single‐cell RNA sequencing to explore the underlying causes of diabetes mellitus‐induced erectile dysfunction, followed by machine learning‐driven design of a single‐atom nanozyme (Fe‐DMOF) for precision treatment of erectile dysfunction.

White Blood Cell to Platelet Ratio as a Marker of Adverse Outcome in Organophosphate Poisoning: A Retrospective Cross-Sectional Survey

open access: yes, 2022
Introduction: Organophosphorus compounds are pesticides commonly used for agricultural purposes. However, by nature they are poisonous, and administration either accidental or intentional is a medical emergency requiring prompt evaluation and treatment,

Seedless One‐Pot Synthesis of Colloidal InAs Quantum Dots Enabling a High‐Accuracy Photoplethysmography Oximeter

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A real‐time, non‐contact photoplethysmography (PPG) system based on InAs colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) synthesized via a seedless injection synthesis is demonstrated. The measured oxygen saturation shows considerable agreement with commercial PPG devices.

A retrospective observational study on the prognostic role of inflammatory markers in futile recanalization after endovascular treatment for large-vessel stroke

open access: yesJournal of International Medical Research
Objective Endovascular treatment has proven to be effective in improving the outcome of patients with large-vessel stroke. However, more than half of the patients experience poor outcomes despite successful recanalization, which was defined as futile ...

Tumor‐Induced Splenic Remodeling: Mechanisms of Systemic Immunosuppression and Emerging Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite the transformative impact of cancer immunotherapies such as immune checkpoint blockade, durable clinical responses remain limited. Increasing evidence indicates that antitumor immunity is governed not only by the tumor microenvironment, but also by systemic immune regulation mediated by peripheral immune organs. Among these, the spleen

Associations of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D with hsCRP and other novel inflammatory biomarkers in children: a cross-sectional study

open access: yesBMJ Open
Objective Previous studies have shown the anti-inflammatory effect of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) and the crucial roles of high-sensitive C reactive protein (hsCRP) and novel inflammatory markers (red blood cell distribution width–platelet count ratio (
