[Anti-platelet antibody and platelet function].

Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 1992
The effect of anti-platelet antibodies, including murine monoclonal antibodies, autoantibodies and alloantibodies, on platelet function was analyzed. The target antigen of these antiplatelet antibodies, investigated in the present study, was a glycoprotein IIb/IIIa, which is a receptor of fibrinogen and plays an important role in platelet aggregation ...

Platelet Antibodies in Patients With Migraine

Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, 1998
The reported decrease of platelet serotonin receptors in patients with migraine could be due to an autoimmune reaction. We, therefore, examined sera from 42 migraineurs without aura, 26 migraineurs with aura, and 107 headache‐free blood donors for platelet‐reactive antibodies using the platelet adhesion immunofluorescence test, the NIH ...

HUMAN NATURAL ANTIBODIES TO PORCINE PLATELETS

Transplantation, 1994
The specificity of human natural antibodies directed against blood cells from pigs was investigated by ELISA and immunoblotting. Both IgG and IgM were identified as xenoantibodies reacting with pig platelets adsorbed to microplates. The antibodies could be absorbed on platelets as well as on RBC, suggesting that the corresponding antigens are expressed

Cytomegalovirus antibody assay by platelet aggregation

Archiv fr die gesamte Virusforschung, 1970
The platelet aggregation (PA) and complement fixation (CF) tests were compared as assays for cytomegalovirus antibodies. Sera from normal blood donors and from patients with various infectious diseases, with cytomegalovirus mono-nucleosis and after open-heart surgery were studied.

Thrombocytopenias and Platelet-Antibodies

Vox Sanguinis, 1957
SummaryThe report deals with the investigation of thrombocyte‐antibodies. By means of an agglutination test 490 sera were tested, and a direct platelet‐Coombs test was performed in addition on 38 patients.48 sera were from patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura; 10 gave a positive agglutination test, and 2 had a positive direct platelet ...

Elution of Granulocyte and Platelet Antibodies

Vox Sanguinis, 1982
AbstractBy lowering the pH of the medium, allo‐ and autoantibodies bound to granulocytes and platelets could be eluted from these cells and their presence in the eluate could subsequently be detected with normal donor granulocytes and platelets, respectively, in the immunofluorescence test and/or agglutination test.

Immune Thrombocytopenias: Tests for Platelet Antibodies

Mayo Clinic Proceedings, 1984
In a study of 49 consecutive patients for whom a test for platelet antibodies had been ordered, tests were performed for both cell-bound and serum platelet antibodies. In cases of autoimmune thrombocytopenia (ITP), the test result for cell-bound antibody was more likely to be positive than was the test result for serum antibody.

Studies on Platelet Antibodies in Man

Vox Sanguinis, 1961
SummaryThree serological methods, the agglutination test, the anti‐human globulin consumption test and the complement fixation test for the detection of platelet antibodies are described and the results given. Special attention is directed to some factors concerning the anti‐human globulin consumption test.

ABH antibodies causing platelet transfusion refractoriness

Transfusion, 1986
Two alloimmunized patients with multispecific anti‐HLA and high‐titered ABH antibodies showed transfusion failures after ABH‐mismatched HLA‐identical platelet transfusions, whereas ABH‐matched HLA‐identical platelets showed sufficient increments. The anti‐A and ‐B could be demonstrated on platelets by immunofluorescence tests using FITC‐labeled goat ...

Platelet‐specific antibodies in transfused patients

European Journal of Haematology, 1996
Abstract: Sera of 104 patients with haematological diseases, transfused with platelets and sometimes also with red cells, were prospectively investigated in: the lymphocytotoxicity test (LCT), the platelet suspension immunofluorescence test (PSIFT) and the monoclonal antibody immunobilization of platelet antigens (MAIPA) technique.
