Nozzle Jamming Granularized Blood‐Derived Proteins for Bioprinting Cell‐Instructive Architectures

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
This work describes an innovative strategy to transform blood‐derived materials into highly printable granular materials that can be used as cell‐instructive bioinks by applying nozzle jamming instead of conventional centrifugal jamming. These modular inks allowed for increased microporosity in large 3D‐printed constructs, biocompatibility, and drug ...

Automated Platelet Counting

American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1971
A prototype model of a new automated optical platelet counter has been evaluated. Counts obtained with the machine were compared with phase contrast and electronic counts using whole blood and platelet-rich plasma. The reproducibility of the automated counts and the correlation with other methods were excellent. The machine will work on blood collected

Platelet Counting

2013
Platelet counting is a daily basic hematological analysis of crucial interest in many clinical situations. Historical manual techniques (phase-contrast microscopy) have been replaced by automated techniques (impedance or optical analyzers) more rapid and precise.

Smear Platelet Counts

Southern Medical Journal, 1980
The average number of platelets per oil immersion field, in a count of ten oil fields, multiplied by 20,000 has proved to be a reliable estimation of platelets in normal and thrombocytopenic states. In the presence of thrombocytosis, ie, 25 or more platelets per oil immersion field, the smear count is less reliable.
