Three-dimensional Multiscale Model of Deformable Platelets Adhesion to Vessel Wall in Blood Flow [PDF]
When a blood vessel ruptures or gets inflamed, the human body responds by rapidly forming a clot to restrict the loss of blood. Platelets aggregation at the injury site of the blood vessel occurring via platelet-platelet adhesion, tethering and rolling on the injured endothelium is a critical initial step in blood clot formation.

Coarse Grain Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Fibrin Polymerization [PDF]
Studies suggests that patients with deep vein thrombosis and diabetes often have hy-per coagulable blood plasma leading to higher chances of forming thromboembolisms by the rupture of blood clots, which may lead to stroke and death. Despite the advances in the field of blood clot formation and lysis research, the change in mechanical properties and its

Biomimetic glycosaminoglycan analog hydrogels exhibit suitable and robust mechanical properties, as well as hemocompatibility and biocompatibility, making them ideal for the embolization of intracranial aneurysms. Notably, the hydrogel's environment‐selective swelling properties enable complete blockage of the aneurysm cavity while preventing ...

Neutrophils play a role in the immunopathology SARS‐CoV‐2 infection by triggering the formation of NETs, producing cytokines including interleukin‐8 (CXCL8), and mediating the recruitment of other immune cells to regulate inflammation, which can lead to ARDS.

Thrombin generation by activated factor VII on platelet activated by different agonists. Extending the cell-based model of hemostasis [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Platelet activation is crucial in normal hemostasis. Using a clotting system free of external tissue factor, we investigated whether activated Factor VII in combination with platelet agonists increased thrombin generation (TG) in vitro ...

The effect of habitual Western diet and salt‐reduced diet on the levels of systemic blood cytokines was analyzed in a placebo‐controlled nutritional intervention study. The results showed that reduced salt intake did not alter the concentrations of any of the analyzed 34 cytokines in blood.

Permeability and conductivity of platelet-reinforced membranes and composites [PDF]
We present large scale simulations of the diffusion constant $D$ of a random composite consisting of aligned platelets with aspect ratio $a/b>>1$ in a matrix (with diffusion constant $D_0$) and find that $D/D_0 = 1/(1+ c_1 x + c_2 x^2)$, where $x= a v_f/b$ and $v_f$ is the platelet volume fraction.

Evaluation of the use of autologous platelet-rich fibrin in myringoplasty operation
Background Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) which is considered a second-generation platelet-rich plasma having a high content of growth factors could be implied as a sealant and adjuvant to grafting materials during tympanoplasty operation. This work aimed to
