Prolonged consumption of clam, Galatea paradoxa, powder led to dose‐dependent increases in uric acid and blood glucose in rats. Liver weight decreased at the highest dose, accompanied by mild histological alterations. These findings suggest that high clam intake, even within recommended dietary levels, may contribute to metabolic disturbances ...

Prognostic value of mean platelet volume to plateletcrit ratio in patients with osteosarcoma.
The objective of this study was to investigate the prognostic value of preoperative mean platelet volume to plateletcrit (MPV/PCT) ratio in patients with osteosarcoma. The retrospective study included 188 consecutive osteosarcoma patients who experienced neoadjuvant chemotherapy and surgical resection of tumor.

Migraine and patent foramen ovale: correlation, coexistence, dependence. A narrative review
Plain Language Summary This review looked at what scientists know about the connection between migraine and a small heart opening called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). It showed that people with migraine, especially with aura, often have PFO, but it is not certain whether closing this heart opening helps prevent strokes in these patients.

Mean Platelet Volume (MPV), Platelet Distribution Width (PDW), Platelet Count and Plateletcrit (PCT) as predictors of in-hospital paediatric mortality: a case-control Study [PDF]
Background: Thrombocytopenia has been shown to predict mortality. We hypothesize that platelet indices may be more useful prognostic indicators. Our study subjects were children one month to 14 years old admitted to our hospital.Aim: To determine whether

Polystyrene nanoplastics (PS‐NPs) administered via oral exposure accelerate triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) progression by synergistically modulating gut microbiota‐derived glutamate production and platelet activation. This study uncovers a pivotal crosstalk between microbial metabolites and platelet‐tumor interactions, offering mechanistic ...

Cardiac syndrome X (CSX) is a clinical entity defined as the triad of typical angina pectoris on exercise, electrocardiographic or metabolic findings of ischemia and normal epicardial coronary arteries. Platelets, whose amount in the blood is indicated with plateletcrit (PCT), play an important role in inflammatory and thrombotic processes and the ...

The model leverages patient time‐space information for pattern feature representations. Encoders extract first and second‐order features, aggregated with categorical embeddings and dense features. Task‐specific and shared experts use gated networks, with a dispatch layer routing information for diabetes risk evaluation and blood glucose prediction ...

Relationship between glycosylated hemoglobin and plateletcrit of type 2 diabetes patients
Aim: Type 2 diabetes can cause serious vascular problems. Abnormal plateletcrit (PCT) levels were shown as a risc factor for coronary artery diseases by recent studies. Glycosylated hemoglonin (HbA1c) is widely ysed marker for assessment of glycemic control.
